GUNS OF ALL TIMES AT GUN OPEN DAY 2, November 2010

GUN OPEN DAY 2, November 2010

Despite the cool weather on Saturday it was hot near Brovary. Members of the Ukrainian Gun Owners Association and their guests gathered at the Sapsan Shooting Sports Complex to communicate with like-minded people and take part in the GUN OPEN DAY 2, NOVEMBER’10 festival, which has already become a good tradition.

Almost a hundred members of the Association competed in rifle shooting. The struggle was fierce, and many of the participants showed a decent result.

The winner of the competition was Oleksandr Kosyakevych, who scored 87 points out of 100 possible. “Bronze” went to the nephew of the former President of Georgia Giorgi Shevarnadze.

And the second place was taken by Yevhen Gredunov, a fragment of whose private collection could be seen by all guests of the event.

The exhibition dedicated to the arms and armor of Tibet aroused considerable interest. It is not surprising, because such a collection (more than 200 different exhibits from Tibetan swords and knives of the XV-XVII centuries to flintlock rifles and guns with wick lock) will not be seen in any Ukrainian museum.

But the real furor was caused by the area where anyone present had the opportunity to shoot blank cartridges from large-caliber weapons. The legendary Maksim machine gun, Degtyarev machine gun, PK, DShK, SG-43, MG34 and MG42, which are forever included in military history, were presented here.
