On August 30, 2016, the deputies of the city council of Varash, Rivne region voted for the initiative to appeal to the President of Ukraine, the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to support the draft law \u2116 1135-1 “On civilian weapons and ammunition<\/a>“.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

“All the best legal systems of liberal countries recognize human life as the main value. Ukrainians are guaranteed such a right by part 2 of Article 27 of the Constitution of Ukraine, according to which a citizen has the right to protect his\/her life from unlawful encroachments. Moreover, Article 36 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine provides that a person has the right to use weapons to protect his\/her life and health, as well as home. Therefore, the state, in which everyone is equal before the law, is simply obliged to create effective mechanisms and conditions for the effective implementation of such protection.” – said the initiator of the appeal, MP from the “Power of People” Serhiy Denega.<\/p>\n\n

When adopting this decision, the deputy corps pleasantly impressed with its unanimity. This indicates that the community delegates understand the seriousness of the issue, as well as their concern for the lives and well-being of the community members who entrusted them with their powers.<\/p>\n\n

According to the people’s deputies, the state is obliged to put an end to this purely Soviet legal tradition of distrust to its own people, which was formed around the civilian circulation of weapons and was unconsciously inherited by independent Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n

Free people have weapons and the right to use them for protection!<\/p>\n\n

It should be recalled that such an appeal to the Head of State has already been signed: Zaporizhzhia Regional Council,<\/a> Kyiv City Council,<\/a> Cherkasy City<\/a> Council, Cherkasy Regional Council,<\/a> Lutsk City Council<\/a> and Lviv City Council<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
